I would be lying if I said I was not currently swimming in a sea of emotions.
I have had 2 Timothy 1:7 in my back pocket for awhile now, but I would also be lying if I said I didn’t still feel stuck.
For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7 TPT
Today was rough. It was rainy. The baby would not nap. I was beyond tired despite the seven and a half hours of sleep. I had no chance to shower so I’m still coated in a mix of grease, feelings, and funk as I write this.
“But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith? The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”
Mark 4:41 NLT
Even the wind and waves obey him. When we don’t know what is next. When we don’t know what the future holds. When the storms inside of us are bigger than we can bear. We hold tight to one thing. The one thing that can get us through anything this life throws at us. We can hold tight to the truth and the promise of who God is, that he is always making a way in the desert. In the desolate, dry, places we thought he could not reach.. he drenches with a love only he can pour out. He is bigger than any storm. He is mightier than any obstacle we may face and he is capable of infinitely more than we could ever imagine on our own.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord . “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

It’s been 2 rough days for us over here too. I currently have 2 Timothy 1:7 on our letter board.
Lifting you up in prayer! And remember (I’ll try to remember too) His mercies are new every morning.
